Liquid Applied Roofing - Case Study

Cogges Pumping Station - Oxfordshire

Installation overview

The roof of this circular pump house had been leaking for many years. Waterproofed originally with asphalt with limestone chippings the roof had a centre section of glazed bricks set in to allow natural light into the building. The perimeter up stand formed in concrete had degraded badly and lack of maintenance had taken its toll. With the prospect of differential movement between mediums a flexible roofing system was required.

Special considerations

Due to the very rural vicinity of this unmanned pump house site visits were few and far between. With no access to the roof, maintenance only occurred when a problem arose. The client required a cold applied roofing system that was cost effective, low maintenance and could over clad the existing system without the need to remove the existing coverings as water integrity was paramount due to the electrical equipment housed within.

Why ERS was selected

With an extensive range of products and skills at their disposal ERS were able to undertake this project confident of full client satisfaction. Including: Full cleaning and preparation to the existing roof surface, repairs to the perimeter up stand, a fully reinforced 15 year warranty roofing system with a non slip surface and a clear waterproofing covering to the porous concrete framing to the glass blocks. Another fully satisfied customer.
